A Practical Overview of SQL Server Management Objects (SMO)

Presented by: Wayne Detmer, Ph.D.

SQL2005 presents us with a new version of an old option, instead of SQL-DMO(Distributed Management Objects) we are given updated and broader access to our server with SMO(SQL Management Objects). By using SMO to explore and manage your SQL2005 servers you will gain a deeper understanding of the object model used to manage SQL2005.  Backups, checking and documenting your server settings and creating objects on your server are just a few of the things we can do with SMO. Using an ASP page, console app and a windows form we will explore some of the options for managing and documenting your server.
