 Session Summary:

In this session we will cover the specifics of SQL Server Integration Services Control Flows and Data Flows.

Control flow is where SSIS developers manage the sequencing of tasks within an SSIS package. Control Flow concepts covered in this session include tasks, precedence constraints, containers, variables and more. Understanding the core concepts of control flow is the foundation of creating effective SSIS Packages.

In this session we will also focus on a specific SSIS task: The "Data Flow" task. The data flow is the most commonly used tool to move data in an SSIS package. It is in the data flow that you specify the data sources, transformations, and destinations for your data movement process. Data Flow concepts covered in this session include Connection Managers, Data Sources, Data Destinations, Transformations, Error Output, and more.

Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 Failover Clustering

Presented by: Allan Hirt

(Please stay tuned for additional posts by the speaker.)

Forget a good portion of everything you know about deploying failover clustering ?  Windows Server 2008 changes the game. Come to see how the changes and improvements affect clustered SQL Server deployments. Things also change a great deal with SQL Server 2008, especially around the setup, upgrade, and patching processes (among other things). This session will talk about what you need to know to have successful deployments of SQL Server failover clustering on Windows Server 2008. Live demos will be shown where possible.
